Here's where the big advantage of using the wick pins comes in.

When the candles are cool, pull up gently on the pin. The whole candle, pin and all, should pop out of the mold.

Turn the candle over and gently tap the pin on the counter. This should dislodge the pin enough from the bottom of the candle to allow you to pull it out.
