Let the candles cool, until the wax has gone opaque on the sides and you've got about 1/8" of a skin on the top of the candle - probably 30-45 minutes.

Then, holding your wire or wick pin against the outer edge of the jar, make a small hole in the top of the candle, pushing the wire all the way to the bottom of the jar.
