Here's the finished soap cut into bars. The honey comb pattern is on the top and the bottom of the bar of soap. You could choose to just have it on one side by not using one of the pieces of bubble wrap.

So...was it worth it to go through the extra trouble and steps to use the beeswax? You'll have to be the judge of that. I think the added sugar from the honey counteracts any loss of lather caused by the beeswax. And my soap recipes are already pretty hard, so I didn't really need the beeswax for that. As for ash, I don't tend to have a lot of trouble with that either...but when I do, I do add some wax (soy or bees) and it seems to get rid of it.

As for the label appeal, you can't beat it. I had customers that just loved the idea of beeswax and honey in the soap recipe, so while the finished soap wasn't that much different, I still made it for them.

And like many of the soap making techniques, ingredients and methods - it's always fun to try something once!
