Lay out your beeswax sheet and cut the wick to about 3/4" of an inch longer than the wax. I'm using an 8" sheet here, so the wick is about 8 3/4".

Tip: As I did in the picture, you can leave 3/4" of an inch on both sides. That way if one end is better looking than the other, you can make either end the top!
