Melt and Pour Valentine Heart Soaps Project

The first thing to do is make the red heart that you are going to embed into the bars. For this I use a combination of clear and white melt and pour base. You want the embeds to be opaque, but if you use pure white soap base, you will never get a good red - only a pastel pink. So I use about 80% clear base and 20% white base. For this batch, I used 8 oz. of clear and 2 oz. of white. Melt it in the microwave.
