As with any candles, do not burn them unattended, and be sure that there is nothing flammable (like curtains) nearby.
A final note: as with most jack o'lanterns, they are used for one night and then put onto the compost heap. If that's the case, I encourage you to scoop out the pumpkin flesh, puree it, and make some pumpkin soap.
