Pour the Inside

Filling the Shell

Filling the Shell

David Fisher
Patience.

That is what you'll need the most of for this step.

Melt enough wax to fill the inside of the shell. I usually just use some of the wax that I used to dip the balloon in. Color or fragrance the wax as you like. I used a navy blue candle dye and a Magnolia fragrance oil. (According to my friend Suzi, all of the ghosts here in the Southern United States smell like magnolia blossoms.)

Here's where the patience comes in. If you pour the candle too quickly, you will melt the shell, or at the least warp it. Let the wax cool to about 140 degrees or so. Then, pour about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of wax in at a time. Let that layer cool a bit (a few minutes), then pour a bit more wax in. Keep pouring the wax in, bit by bit, until you've filled the shell.
