The Multi-Pot Method

Candy Corn Layered Pillar Candle

Using the multi-pot method for your candy corn candle - This is the method you would use to make any layered pillar candle.
  1. Melt the entire amount of wax you'll need to make your pillar candle.
  2. Add your stearic or vybar.
  3. Add your fragrance oil. (Bitter Creek Candle Supply has a delightful Candy Corn fragrance oil)
  4. Once the additive and fragrance are well mixed, you're ready to pour the first section (white).
  5. Pour 1/3 of the wax into your mold.
  6. WAIT
  7. While you're waiting for the first 1/3 to cool, separate the remaining wax into two parts. I will often use a soup can or spare melt pot for this.
  8. Add your color to the two parts of wax - making one yellow and one orange. Keep waiting for the first layer to cool. It doesn't have to cool completely, but it needs to have hardened pretty well on the top or else the second layer will melt through the first. Timing is important here.
  9. Keep the rest of your wax warm, at about 180 degrees. Poke the top of the first section with a skewer to see how firm it is. The wax may also be just beginning to shrink back from the sides of the mold. That's the time to pour the second layer.
  10. Slowly pour the yellow layer on top of the first layer. To be really on the safe side, just pour a 1/2 inch or so of the wax at first, let it cool a bit, then pour the rest.
  11. Wait until the second layer has hardened some, and then pour the third layer. Save a bit of the third layer's wax to top off the candle. Or Top it Off with a Heat Gun

    Let the candle cool, remove from the mold, and enjoy!
