Good Enough to Eat

For a bit of sweet holiday fun, try this layered pillar candle inspired by candy corn!

For this project you'll need:

  • Enough pillar blend wax to make your pillar (I used IGI 4625)
  • Some vybar or stearic acid to help make the candle wax a bit more opaque (If using stearic, add about 2 tbs per pound of wax, if using vybar, add about 1/2 tsp per pound of wax)
  • Proper wick for your candle
  • Yellow and orange candle dye - liquid or chips (You could also use yellow and red if you want to just mix the yellow and red to make orange)
Follow basic Pillar Candle Making Instructions for this project except when it comes time to pour the wax, you're only going to pour a portion at a time. It helps to measure and mark your mold with a sharpie pen or other mark to help you get the right amount of wax poured.

There are two ways to do this particular candle:

  • The one pot method
  • The three pot method
