Question: Aren't gel candles unsafe?
Answer: I get this question a lot. And the answer is NO - sort of.
Gel candles are no MORE dangerous than any other type of candle. There are poorly made gel candles that can be dangerous and there are poorly made wax candles that can be dangerous. People can be stupid using gel candles and cause fires, and people can be stupid with wax candles. You see my point?
The only thing more dangerous about gel candles is the fact that the melted gel is hotter than the melted wax. But that's it. A properly made, properly cared-for gel candle is NO more dangerous than any other candle.
