Mix them together well and set them aside.

After it's sat for about 20-30 minutes, see if it's clear. If it's clear, it's "non-polar" and you're good to go. If it's separated, or is cloudy at all, save it for soap or non-gel candles.

Repeat the experiment again, this time using 3 parts fragrance to 1 part mineral oil. That is:

  • 3 teaspoons fragrance
  • 1 teaspoon mineral oil
Set it aside again for 20-30 minutes and check for clarity. You generally won't see much difference, but using the different mixture helps make doubly sure.
