Adding the Colorant

David Fisher
When the wax has reached the appropriate temperature, it's time to add the colorant and fragrance. With this wax, I added color and fragrance in at 170 degrees--follow the manufacturer's guidelines for your particular wax!
Remove the double boiler from the burner, or turn the burner off, so that the water will stop boiling. Slowly add drops of the colorant to the melted wax.
Be conservative. Remember, you can always add more color if needed.
You can test the approximate color by taking a few drops of wax and putting them on a white paper towel or wax paper and letting them harden.

Once you've added the colorant, gently stir the wax (I'm using a wooden chopstick here) until the colorant is blended. For this candle I used 10 drops of standard yellow candle dye.
