Materials for Mitre Box Mold

1. Handsaw (Many mitre boxes come with a mitre box saw)
2. 10 Screws- One inch long or 1 1/8 inch long (depending on how deep you sink the screws)
3. Screwdriver
4. Thin wood strips- 1/2 inch by 4 inch smooth poplar strips that you can purchase at a home center store. Buy enough length so that you have twice the length of your miter box plus 8 inches.
5. 1X2 inch wood strips- Buy enough so that you have twice the length of your miter box plus 8 inches.
6. A wooden mitre box
7. Electric Drill-both to drill pilot holes and to set the screws

• Cut the wood strips for the sides of the mold
• Attach the 1x2 strips to the top of the thin strips to make the side strips
• Take a very accurate measurement to determine how wide to cut the end pieces
• Finish the end pieces in the same way as the sides
• Put the mold together
• Lining the mold
• Making soap in your new miter box mold
