Candles on the other side of the world

There are so many candle and soap makers here (where I am) in the United States that I sometimes forget that people make soap and candles all over the world. I've gotten emails from candle makers in Israel and soap makers in Africa. I've written about and featured many candle and soap makers in the Information and Inspiration section of the site. Here's an article from the other side of the world where even a tsunami couldn't put out the flame of a dedicated candle maker. In Sri Lanka, Lucian Fernando, proprietor of Mihikatha Creations, has moved from humble candle making beginnings in 1996 to an international business. I think it's fascinating to read about how other people in other cultures enjoy, and make a living, making candles.
