alkanet soapI've been organizing some of my soap making shelves and supplies and have been going through all the various spices, herbs, flowers and other natural botanicals I have accumulated over the years. A while back I tried using some of them as natural colorants in soy wax - and that worked out pretty well - but the really great thing about these botanicals is to use them as natural colorants in soap. Many of them can just be ground up and added in at trace, but a few of them work best when they are infused into the soap making oils first.

Here are instructions for using infused natural colorants in your soap making recipes.
