What Type of Soaper (or Chandler) are You?
Tuesday November 11, 2008
Inspired by a post on Kathy Miller's Soap site (one of the oldest and best soap sites on the internet) - What Type of Soaper Are You?
The Naturalist?
The Expense Artist
The Latherist?
The Country Wrapper?
The Sofa Soaper?
These and dozens more are on the site. You'll chuckle...and more than likely find a soaper that you fit.
Be sure to scroll down about half way for the "You might be a soap addict if..." section...hilarious!

I’ll get things started…
I’m definitely an “Expense Artist” - I have shelves full of stuff that I just HAD to buy because it would be cool to use in a batch of soap some day. I’m also a “Namer”…and of course, a “Soap Teacher.”
I am a “peekersoaper”. I just can’t wait till the soap cures to see how the colors did with the new scent. When hardened,I can’t wait to cut it to see how each bar differs from the next. I love making soap, and all the possibilities it presents.
Submitted my own,..Mad Scientist Soaper…
Digital scale, measures 2X, bottle of acidic spray just in case of lye incident, biohazard suit,…then after following recipe goes mad and tweaks the recipe. Sometimes with disasterous results.
I think I’m more of a naturalist soaper. I like to use natural oils, and Lard. My very first batch was just lard. I just had to make some like my grandmother used to make.
I’m definitely a scenter! ANY candle or soap is merely the vehicle to carry the scent! Lather and melt are merely secondary! LOL
I would have to add a new one. I am a “One of A Kind Soaper”. Each batch is different from the one before! I love creating new recipes and testing them out.
