The 2008 Texas Soapmakers Convention

I'm at the 2008 Texas Soapmakers Association annual convention. I've created a photo gallery of the convention...and will be adding to it throughout the day. The morning kicked off in a BIG way with keynote speaker Sandy Maine of the SunFeather Natural Soap Company. She set the tone of the morning when she said, "Soapmaking is not a job...it's a destiny." This pioneer of the natural soapmaking industry started small when there were no suppliers, no internet and only 80 year old women who thought she was crazy for trying to make her own soap. But in 1979, SunFeather was born and is one of the top 5 natural soap companies in the U.S. I can see why she has been so successful. Through her kind, quiet demeanor shines a super savvy business woman with decades of dedicated practical experience.
