Loofah Soap - Super Scrubby Makes Super Skin

Saturday July 12, 2008
loofah soap Skin care experts say that good exfoliation is one of the keys to healthy skin. Many soap makers use natural exfoliants in their soap, and one of the most common is the loofah. (It's sometimes spelled lufah or luffah.) It's a vegetable related to gourds and cucumbers. A while ago, I got some samples of loofah from Loofah by the Inch. Now I've seen and made soap with lots of loofahs in the past...but these are by far the best ones I've ever used! They are clean and soft and perfectly shaped - and there are few, if any, seeds left in them. Great stuff! And the assortment of shapes and sizes and cuts you can get is amazing. The 12" cuts I received fit perfectly into the 12" pvc mold to make a batch of Super Scrubby Loofah Soap.

Interesting. I’ve seen loofahs before, but never head of making soap with them. When I first saw the image I thought it was a tomato, and I was on one of the food sites.
