Bunnies, Wolves and Lye in Soap Making

Sunday March 18, 2007
bunniesI've been teaching some soap making classes lately, and one of the big points of discussion is always the lye-oil reaction...and how the lye and the oils transform into something completely different. I always refer students to a great website I found a while ago by Jennifer P. Davis that boils the whole thing down to bunnies, wolves, sheep and collies. It may sound silly, but it's one of the best explanations of the soap making process and superfatting I've ever encountered!
