There have been several posts recently on the
Candle and Soap Making Forum about
making liquid soap. Some of the responses were fine, others used techniques I wouldn't recommend. So I thought I'd let you all jump into a whole other pot of soap -
liquid soap. It's like cold process bar soap in a lot of ways - but it's very different in a lot of ways too. It uses potassium hydroxide instead of sodium hydroxide. It's a "hot process" soap instead of cold process, and the recipes are formulated with excess lye instead of a lye discount. The final product still bubbles and cleans and moisturizes, and there are almost as many varieties, techniques and variations in liquid soap as there are for bar soap. I'll be creating a new
Liquid Soap Forum on the
Candle and Soap Making Forum for you to post your tips and trouble shoot your batches. Enjoy!
