Soap Company Raises The Bar

Thursday September 22, 2005
"That's why soap is so fun," Kathy Houghton says. "You can do so much with it."
This article tells the success story of Kathy and Don Houghton who have turned a few batches of soap in their kitchen into a full time business. "The couple make soaps in 43 scents and styles, ranging from oatmeal to calendula, and from hemp to lavender. Their products come primarily in handcrafted bars, but also in handshaped balls, as liquids and as hardened, re-milled shave soaps. Even as cheese-wedge-shaped soaps-on-ropes." They've done the business part well, getting advice, taking a business loan, and working working working...which is the key to starting any small business.
